Sri Lanka Tourism joined the largest travel agent road show in the UK as the main destination sponsor. In 2006 and 2007, Sri Lanka positioned itself as a major destination of choice. Visiting 8 cities and training 100 agents at each city, Sri Lanka ensured that 800 travel agents had a positive experience and went on to increse their sales of the country.
5 hoteliers from Sri Lanka joined, and Sri Lanka taught all travel agents about the country and got them to enter a quiz. This helped to build a data base and create awareness.
Agents received an e-mail by 9am the following morning so that they could share their experiences with their others in their office.
Cities covered include : Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester, Chester, Heathow, Gatwick, London Bournemouth, and Brighton.
